ORGANIC COMPOST
All Purpose Organic compost is a rich, dark 100% peat-free general-purpose growing medium containing balanced fertilizers suitable for a wide range of uses including potting on, container growing, tree and shrub planting and seed sowing as well as improving drainage and putting some goodness back into a poor soil. It can also be used for mulching beds. Manufactured from composted sustainable raw material green residues. Contains balanced plant nutrients giving optimum fertilization for the first four to six weeks in use. All our compost products have been analysed in line with the British Standard PAS100 regulations.
 
MUSHROOM COMPOST
A blend of composted agricultural straw and animal manures, originating from the production of mushrooms, used to improve the soil's physical structure and organic matter content.  Not suitable for lime hating plants.

BARKS
The country garden  range of mulches and barks offers the designer, landscape contractor or gardener the widest choice available in terms of product type, quality, performance and durability. Our range of screened bark and wood-based mulches are  of consistent quality to a written specification, helping reduce the cost of on-going landscape maintenance through moisture retention and weed suppression and providing an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

For play areas it is recommended that the bark should be applied at a minimum depth of 10cm (4 inches). A bulk bag will cover approximately 8 square metres for play areas.

For mulching it is recommended that you apply the bark at a depth of approximately 4 to 7 cm (1.5 to 2 inches). A bulk bag will cover approximately 15 square metres as a mulch. All our play grade barks and woodchips are certified to the British Standard BSEN 1177:1998, the industry standard for play area approved products.

We supply a range of barks from a pine woodchip for a low cost mulch, to a 40mm ornamental bark for prestigious displays. All of our products come from sustainable, managed forests  as well as being sourced as local as possible to reduce our carbon footprint.

Amenity Mulch 10-30mm
Amenity Bark Mulch, a blend of pine bark and dark woody fraction making a durable  and attractive economy landscaping mulch. This product is perfect for use on large scale landscaping projects.
 
Contract bark 10-35mm
This a blend of decorative spruce ornamental bark and dark  woody fraction, specially blended to produce an economic yet attractive bark mulch, screened 10mm to 35mm it is a long lasting product which covers ground easilyand  acts as an effective and attractive mulch.

Ornamental Bark 20-60mm
This is a course grade of pine bark consisting of large nuggets and chunks of bark. It is soft and reddish brown in colour,v ery durable and more decorative than the smaller contact bark grades, and is well suited to use on large or small scale landscaping jobs as well as use as a prestigous display garden bark.

COMPOSTED BARK
0-10mm for use as a soil conditioner and mulch, made of smaller screenings of the ornamental  and contract bark

SCOTCH PINE WOODCHIP
Wood chip is stronger, longer-lasting, and more evenly textured than bark and is a better product to use in areas with heavy footfall. Our wood chips are made from a variety of soft and hardwood timber, a  wood chip that can be applied to wet surfaces and muddy areas making it ideal for footpaths. It is free-draining, low-maintenance and cost-effective and will protect the ground from erosion. Particle sizes 15-40mm. It is an ideal surface for use in children's play areas where it offers both a soft surface and acts to protect the ground from erosion.
